We apologise for the delay.

Hullo, out there my faithful readers. I apologise for the delay, but I'm afraid I've been a bit busy this week....alright I can't really type that without feeling guilty. Okay, I've basically been procrastinating and putting this off. Don't really know why, but here is the stuff that has happened in the last two weeks.

Right firstly, last weekend I spent the weekend with Emma and co. again, only this time I was taken on the tour of Central Otago, a.k.a Lord of the Rings country. I was rendered speechless at the beauty of the place...you would not believe some of the scenery there, its very easy to see why Jackson chose it for his movie. Anyway, that was how I spent that weekend, photos will follow for those unable to view them on Facebook.com.

Anyway, for the rest of the week nothing much interesting happened, apart from recieving a nice letter from Grandma, however on Thursday, I started working for Property Services. Getting up at 5:45 in the morning is not a very easy feat I'll have you know. First day of work nothing really happened, on account of it raining...very, very, very hard. So I sorted some of the paper work that needed doing, i.e. my ID card and mug-shot, and getting to know the rest of the team; really great bunch, very pleasant to work with. Anyway, on Friday, things were a bit more active: I was taken out on liter pick up first thing. Then I was taken out on the route that I would be taking over in the near future when it's previous inhabitant goes on leave. And then I was taken out on another route to empty the ash trays...by far the most unpleasant task so far. Anyway, that was pretty much what happened, and so far it has proved to be quite enjoyable.

Anyway this wekend was quite active. On Saturday I had quite a bit of fun cleaning the patio with the water blaster; so much fun...believe me, it was very theraputic, and a DVD from home arrived, containing some of the TV shows I miss so much (Being Human and Mock the Week). Sunday came around, we went to a home show. Kind of like the university education fairs I've been to in the past, except for house appliances. I was quite impressed by it, however Claire and John told me that its not as good as it has been due to the recession.

Anyway, that's pretty much it, you are now up to date on everything that has happened to me since my last blog update. Things should get pretty interesting from here on out, considering that the students have now returned, and considering that Orientation Week starts on Monday.

See you all next week, (I promise) possibly with interesting news (no promises).

Laters,

Alex.

What a week.

Hello, faithfull followers back in the UK. It's been a week since I last spoke to you from the other side of the world, so let me tell you whats been going on. Okay, so for the majority of the week I haven't done much but sit around and enjoy the sun, seeing as John was waiting for the new modem for the computer, so expect more frequent updates now that Claire's place has internet. When the package arrived on thursday, John gave me a few highlights of what I should take the time to visit in Dunedin. So I set out to explore. I mooched around town, and investigated the Early Settler's Museum. Quite a few interesting facts there, let me tell you. Anyway, on Friday I had my first job interview, (which John tells me went quite well), which I should be hearing about by the middle of next week. Unfortunately I missed my bus stop on the way back, and ended up having to walk back to Claire and John's from Port Chalmers, (bloody long way, and not at all pleasant with the sun beating down on you). Anyway, this weekend has been spent round Emma's house, and one of her cats seems to have made me its new best friend forever. No doubt people have seen the Facebook photo's of the events. Aquariums, Fishing, and general nice scenery. Anyway, today's wheather, in contrast to the rest of the week, looks a bit gloomy and grey. Still, I am looking forward to meeting Emma's father, David, this evening. Anyway, thats about it so far. Its been a good week. I will upload photos either here or to facebook if I can't work out how to do it here. Missing you all terribly, by the way.
